Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness -- Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10, modifiers and other coding systems - Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement - Follow up on unpaid claims and denials to ensure timely payment - Posting Payments -Obtain referrals and authorizations - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations - Update patient accounts with accurate billing information - Communicating with insurance carriers and patients on a daily basis to collect any outstanding balances - Data Entry - Scheduling - Front Desk - Filling Requirements:
- 5
years' experience in medical billing and collections - Previous experience with Electronic Claims Transmission and proficient in using a windows applications as well as using the internet for insurance verification billing and follow-up - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and billing systems - Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and billing software - Familiarity with ICD-10 coding guidelines - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal while working with doctors, patient's insurance carriers and co-workers - Ability to work independently or collectively and efficiently in a fast paced & changing industry to prioritize tasks effectively - Highly motivated & detail oriented while communicating with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies with professionalism to resolve billing issues -Eager to utilize existing skills and acquire new ones -Infertility/GYN experience or bilingual a plus - Flexible hours and rotating weekends required.
